Here is a template for a three fold brochure. You use it once for the inside and once for the outside of the brochure, flyer, handout, etc. It is for a standard 8.5 x 11.0 sheet of paper. When you make a brochure it is important to keep in mind that you will need to leave a margin of error for the cutting. In the template below the blue area if safe for all you images and text. The solid black line represents approximately where the brochure will be cut. Since it is approximate, you want to avoid having anything in the green area that will look bad if it is cut. So, particulary do not put any text in the green area. It is also a good idea to avoid any small images or precise images that will appear to be off if they are trimmed. As a general rule, then, put in the green area background type images that do not need to be cut precisely. The pink area represents where the background images should be extended to. Of course if there isn't anything in the green area, then there won't be anything in the pink area. To see the image below full sized, download it to your computer.
